Life at home with Marcus has definitely been an adjustment. There are pros and cons compared to being in a facility, but overall it’s comforting to have the peace of mind that comes with controlling his length of stay. No matter how much we prepared, it’s impossible to think of everything ahead of time. Sometimes you don’t realize what you need until you’re in the middle of a task. Just the growing pains of a new environment.

Marcus has been going to the hyperbaric chamber due to the nature of his wound. Getting him in has been challenging between his weight and the limited mobility in his legs. It typically takes three to four people.

Marcus is also seeing a neurologist two to three times a week. Treatments include compression boots with foot stimulation, magnetic stimulation to the head, and red light therapy targeting the vagus nerve.

We also had a routine dental appointment. They recommended Orabase for his lower lip and would like to create a custom mouthguard since the inflammation is significant. Unfortunately, Marcus wasn’t able to keep his mouth open long enough today, so we’ll try again after the pump install.

There has been a flurry of appointments leading up to the pump. Team Marcus is anxiously waiting to see the results and understand the plan moving forward.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued prayers, encouragement, and support. Your messages, check-ins, and love mean more to our family than words can fully express. Thank you for walking this journey with us.
