After many delays, we finally have Marcus’ (non-loaner) wheelchair. It supports his entire body much better. The loaner was too small and he ended up getting skin issues on the areas where he wasn’t being supported. The other nice feature is that the rests have a strap that will help keep his legs bent. This is a great help as we are entering fall, as we won’t be able to walk Marcus to and from as much. We have had great difficulty in getting him into an Uber.
As some of you might remember, we had mentioned an upcoming tournament that intended to designate some of the proceeds for Marcus’ care. Due to some logistical issues, the tournament was postponed until the spring. We will provide more details as the time nears.
On the home nursing front, we thought we had someone for the weekend, but it looks like the person didn’t pass some of the checks the agency conducts. We had to add another agency to assist in nursing recruitment. So, there’s more “hurry up and wait,” and we just have to be patient.
