Marcus’ tonacity has improved over the past couple weeks. A steady routine of stretching, massages and therapy has aided this improvement. While he can’t verbally communicate yet, his body language during the stretching and massages indicates that he is enjoying them. We’ve also added a bolster roll to help his lower body mobility. The roll goes under his knees, and it allows gravity to do its job in allowing his legs a larger range of motion.
On that note, we are going to start a regimen of consistent commands to get Marcus to communicate. All of the caregivers will be using identical phrases to help Marcus communicate. The doctors want us to do this about 4-5 times a day. This is the perfect balance of training and brain overstimulation.
