Team Marcus members in Chicago spent Christmas morning opening presents with Marcus.  Addy and Livi wanted to be his helper elves and assisted Marcus with opening his presents.

Almost Home Kids (AHK) met with Team Marcus.  AHK did a bedside assessment with Marcus and determined he was appropriate for their facility.  We have completed a walkthrough and have a better picture of what‘s coming up with this transition.  

There will be a few changes that we will need to adjust to as we switch facilities:
1) Marcus will be sharing a room with someone at AHK.  They attempt to place kids of similar age and gender in a room together. It will be interesting to see if there is someone who is Marcus‘ age and size needing a roommate.
2) We have to complete another training round before Marcus can leave the facility. Training will need to be completed before he starts his day therapy, so we hope one of us can begin training when he is admitted.  (We are not allowed to start before that.) 
3) The last significant change is that AHK has strict daily visiting hours, which are  8 am to 9 pm.  These hours pertain to everyone, including parents and family.  We can, however, call the nurses 24 hours a day to check on him.

As we begin the New Year, we are excited and anxious to start this next part of Marcus‘ recovery journey.
