A routine has been set at Almost Home Kids (AHK). Marcus’ schedule consists of therapy five days a week for three hours daily, including scheduled medicine, feeding, and routine showers. It’s nice to find consistency and normality wherever we can get it these days. In almost two months at AHK, he has gained nearly 10 pounds, another good sign that he is progressing.

Casting has helped to place his feet and ankles in the correct resting position, so he will no longer need casts. He will wear two sets of AFOs (Ankle-Foot Orthosis) braces, one for day and one for night use. He has started to demonstrate more strength in his legs. During one of the therapies, the trainer tried pushing Marcus up to a pedal bike, but he did not want to be that close for whatever reason. You could see his leg muscles working, and he was pushing back against the pedal so much that he was moving his wheelchair back a couple of inches even though the wheel locks were on. Marcus has always been strong.

Even though his birthday has passed, we are still receiving cards, and we cannot thank you enough for the love you all have shown Marcus and his support team throughout this ordeal.
